Ecology Summary - Sepiola atlantica
Ecology of Sepiola atlantica

Main Ref. Roper, C.F.E., M.J. Sweeney and C.E. Nauen, 1984
Remarks An epibenthic species (Refs. 1695, 87524) found on the continental shelf to the edge of the continental slope. In Firemore Bay, Loch Ewe, Scotland, the resident population has a variable age composition, suggesting an extended reproductive season. Juveniles occur throughout the year, with peak recruitment in April and July to August. May be of some value to local commercial fisheries on the north European continental shelf due to its common occurrence and wide distribution (Ref. 1695).
