Remarks Inhabits shallow reef rock and reef crests (Ref. 415). This species is restricted to shallow water less than 3 meters and more prevalent in a high energy environment (Ref. 86574). Dwells in beachrock, coral reefs, seagrass beds, other hard rock substrates, and irregular bottoms. Recorded from superficial seawater temperatures of 20.8-29°C. Predominantly herbivorous with reports of facultative omnivory leaning towards herbivory (Ref. 128651).
