comments Nesting period occurs from April to August with the peak in June. Species found in Buritaca have size of egg clutches ranging from 58 to 163 eggs with a mean of 106.5 for 254 nests; egg diameter ranging from 3.97 to 4.75 cm with an mean of 4.33 cm for 3,370 eggs; egg weight ranging from 29.7 to 46.8 g with a mean of 38.4 g for 370 eggs; and, mean size of 46 hatchlings, 4.5 cm with a mean weight of 18.8 g (Ref. 1397).
