Comments: Known from Aupourian - Kaipara Harbour, north around North Cape, encompassing the Three Kings Islands and south to East Cape. Also in Cookian - Lower North Island and the northern part of the South Island. And south to Forsterian - Otago, Fiordland and Stewart Island.

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
