Valves shape: Heart-shaped, covered with minute; round, sharply raised pustules, except on narrow dorsal ridge. Girdle: Rusty brown, lower edge with a spiculose fringe. Valves: have four tufts of long, glassy bristles. Tufts: Set in cuplike collars (Ref. 281).
